eTranscript California

eTranscript California is an electronic exchange designed to facilitate the request and delivery of postsecondary transcripts in California.

Since 2008, eTranscript California has eased the transfer process by providing fast and easy access to required records. eTranscript California also ensures that transcripts meet the California Electronic Transcript Standard — a statewide format recognized by the CSU and UC systems.

The exchange supports the work of the Student Success Act of 2012 (SB1456) and the "Second Chance" initiative (AB1056).

Articulation & Transfer

The CCC Technology Center facilitates several technology projects that support seamless transfer for students moving on from a California community college to a four-year institution.

Curriculum Inventory (COCI)

Chancellor's Office Curriculum Inventory (COCI) System serves as the central database for all California Community Colleges (CCC) course information. Colleges use COCI to submit new or notably changed courses and programs for approval. The application uses unique Course Control Numbers to identify and track course information.

COCI provides transparent, role-based workflows to assist in regulatory and policy planning. The system also supports efforts like the CCC MyPath project, as well as educational planning and career and program guidance.

Course Identification (C-ID)

The Course Identification Numbering Systems known as C-ID helps colleges simplify the access and sharing of information pertaining to transfer and articulation within the CCC and CSU/UC systems.

By identifying and organizing transfer-relevant courses, C-ID eases staff workloads and removes a barrier to student success. The system also serves as a hub for articulation agreements between California schools, and across statewide systems.

CCC SSO Federation

Digital fingerprintThe California Community Colleges Single Sign-on Federation (CCC SSO) is an initiative to provide secure, scalable, and integrated technology solutions for the CCC that take advantage of economies of scale and are facilitated by governance from the colleges, themselves. The CCC SSO Federation offers a common framework for shared management of access to CCC resources and secure web applications.

Implementing a single sign-on solution is a requirement of the CCC SSO Federation and allows participating California Community Colleges to take full advantage of the products and services offered by the CCC Technology Center. The Technology Center has partnered with the InCommon Federation to provide a single sign-on solution to the colleges. Through InCommon, college identity providers can give their users single sign-on convenience and privacy protection, while online service providers control access to their protected resources. Learn more about the partnership with InCommon.

Why SSO?

Single sign-on allows students, faculty and staff to access Technology Center services using the login credentials — or CCCID — they already use at the college or district. CCCID is a systemwide ID provided through the OpenCCC initiative. When a CCC student is configured for a CCCID, they can log in to one application, such as the CCC MyPath student services portal, then access multiple different web applications, such as Canvas and CCCApply, without having to log in to each application individually.
