Presented by the California Community Colleges (CCC) Technology Center and CCC Chancellor’s Office Visiting Administrator Kim Anderson, this webinar provides an overview of the AB928/Auto-ADT (Associate Degree for Transfer) guidance, with a focus on the new CCCApply Majors filter enhancement in support of this legislation.

In order to best guide students on a path to transfer, CCCApply has been enhanced to display only majors and major categories associated with Associate Degree for Transfer or Associate Degree award types. This new Majors filter in CCCApply only displays when students select Educational Goal #1 “Obtain an Associate degree and transfer to a 4-year institution.”

In this presentation, we discussed a new CCCApply Administrator feature: The OpenCCC Bulk Create CCCIDs process. CCCID is the unique, systemwide identifier for students of the California Community Colleges. The ability to create CCCIDs in bulk will assist colleges in their need to report CCCIDs along with other student data for MIS and other statewide reporting. With this new feature, college staff can create new CCCIDs/student accounts for students without access to the online student account system (e.g., apprenticeship, noncredit, and justice-involved).

With the phase-out of the CCCApply Download Client starting on July 1, 2022, all new CCCApply student application data will be delivered via SuperGlue only. This continues the phase-out plan for the CCCApply Download Client that was announced last year, and that began with the deployment of the Student Success Suite 1.0 student account system.

In this webinar, we explained the next steps in the Download Client phase-out plan, and how SuperGlue enables real-time delivery of student application data directly to your college ERP/Student Information System.

Since the first pilot release of the new student account system in May, colleges have been able to see and test the new student account workflows. This month, the final pilot phase for the new student account system will be deployed, followed by a production release that will move the student account system into action across the California Community Colleges.

This final pilot phase links the new student account system to CCCApply Standard, International, and California College Promise Grant student applications, as well as the CCC MyPath student onboarding system. With this integration, colleges will be able to test the entire student workflow, from account creation to college application and student onboarding.

Beyond the basics of student onboarding and announcements, California community colleges are now enhancing their CCC MyPath offerings to include further customization of student-focused information, including checklists for transfer and graduation requirements, using customized CMS portlets.

These portlets — akin to mini webpages — in CCC MyPath are an ideal option for schools whose webmasters are up to their ears in work. This option enables colleges to present and explain complex information, complete with images or diagrams if they desire, that really can help students understand processes and requirements.

Pasadena City College saw great success in its efforts to streamline the noncredit application process for students. Prior to adopting the CCCApply Noncredit Application supported by SuperGlue, it took students two to four days to complete the manual process in place at the college. Now with the noncredit app and SuperGlue in place, students are able to apply and begin onboarding in under an hour.

In this webinar, we heard directly from the team at PCC about what they did locally to clear the path for noncredit students. The California Community Colleges Technology Center Enabling Services team supported PCC's efforts and stands ready to assist other colleges in the same way.

The noncredit application was designed in response to AB 3101, by streamlining the standard CCCApply format and eliminating residency questions for noncredit students. When this new application was released in July 2019, there were initially only a couple of colleges that jumped at the chance to adopt it. Over the past year, that number has grown from two to 22.

What satisfaction levels do your students reach when they apply to your college through CCCApply, the California Community Colleges online college admission application? Was the experience easy or was it challenging? Would they recommend CCCApply to a friend?

At the end of each application in CCCApply, applicants are asked to complete a student survey. Each college's student survey results — and other metrics — are available on-demand to colleges through the CCCApply Report Center.

In this webinar, the CCCApply product and support teams demonstrate how colleges can access the data and metrics available on-demand from CCCApply.

This webinar provided an overview of the California Community Colleges Multiple Measures Placement Service (MMPS) and an in-depth look into the benefits of MMPS by exploring the specific data the service delivers and the recommended practices for using this data at your college.

Watch on YouTube.

This webinar was part of an informational series about the Multiple Measures Placement Service that was developed by the California Community Colleges Technology Center.

MMPS was designed to help campuses conform to AB 705, which mandates that California's community colleges incorporate multiple high school transcript-based data points in determining English and math placement to increase students' probability of completing transfer-level courses within one year.

MMPS is the result of a statewide collaboration between the California Community Colleges Board of Governors, the Chancellor's Office, colleges across the system, and partners including California College Guidance Initiative and Educational Results Partnership.
