New Student Account System Live Demo — Nov 3, 2021
Since the first pilot release of the new student account system in May, colleges have been able to see and test the new student account workflows. This month, the final pilot phase for the new student account system will be deployed, followed by a production release that will move the student account system into action across the California Community Colleges.
This final pilot phase links the new student account system to CCCApply Standard, International, and California College Promise Grant student applications, as well as the CCC MyPath student onboarding system. With this integration, colleges will be able to test the entire student workflow, from account creation to college application and student onboarding.
Beyond Onboarding: CCC MyPath Customization for Student Completion — June 9, 2021
Beyond the basics of student onboarding and announcements, California community colleges are now enhancing their CCC MyPath offerings to include further customization of student-focused information, including checklists for transfer and graduation requirements, using customized CMS portlets.
These portlets — akin to mini webpages — in CCC MyPath are an ideal option for schools whose webmasters are up to their ears in work. This option enables colleges to present and explain complex information, complete with images or diagrams if they desire, that really can help students understand processes and requirements.
CCCApply Noncredit Application with SuperGlue: A PCC Success Story — May 5, 2021
Pasadena City College saw great success in its efforts to streamline the noncredit application process for students. Prior to adopting the CCCApply Noncredit Application supported by SuperGlue, it took students two to four days to complete the manual process in place at the college. Now with the noncredit app and SuperGlue in place, students are able to apply and begin onboarding in under an hour.
In this webinar, we heard directly from the team at PCC about what they did locally to clear the path for noncredit students. The California Community Colleges Technology Center Enabling Services team supported PCC's efforts and stands ready to assist other colleges in the same way.
The noncredit application was designed in response to AB 3101, by streamlining the standard CCCApply format and eliminating residency questions for noncredit students. When this new application was released in July 2019, there were initially only a couple of colleges that jumped at the chance to adopt it. Over the past year, that number has grown from two to 22.
